1. Keep incision dry for 5 days.

2. No exertional activity (running, jogging, weight lifting, etc.).

3. Clean suture line and around drain (if present) three times a day with hydrogen peroxide and then apply an antibiotic ointment, such as Polysporin, Bacitracin, or Triple Antibiotic Ointment (which may be purchased over-the-counter). Apply after each cleansing.

4. The dressing may be removed after 24 hours. You do not need to apply another dressing unless you are concerned about getting drainage on your clothes or sheets.

5. Take prescribed medication as ordered.

6. Please call the nurse at (304) 340-2205 for any questions or concerns. For an emergency dial (304) 342-0124 and designate the call as an emergency. This number is answered 24 hours a day by either the office or the answering service
