What training do
audiologists receive?
Audiologists receive specialized training which
allows them to administer a variety of test
procedures and provide different services to
patients of all age groups, from infants to the
elderly. The entry level degree to practice
audiology is a Master's degree. This is followed by
a clinical externship and obtaining state licensure.
Continuing education is a must in this field as
testing and hearing aid fitting techniques are
constantly changing. The audiologists at Ear, Nose,
& Throat Associates all hold certificates of
clinical competency through the American Speech,
Language, & Hearing Association and all are fellows
of the American Academy of Audiology.
